Hi everyone. It’s me, Olivia. This year Mommy and I were determined to finish all 30 hikes for the Get Outdoors York challenge. And guess what?! We did it!!! Mommy thought we had a week longer than we really did so on the very last day of the challenge, we still had 12 hikes to do! TWELVE! But we both like to finish anything we start, so we completed all of those hikes on the very last day. I am so proud of myself because I walked 12.6 miles that day! That’s the longest I’ve ever walked in one day. And I’m super proud of me and mommy for finishing all of the hikes. We met a lot of nice people this year during our hikes, and it was fun to see other families having fun together. On one of our hikes, we walked through the creek instead of on the trail which was so much fun! That was one of my favorite days this summer. The spotted lantern flies were really bad on some of the hikes, and they were even hanging on the rubbing post at one of the parks. Ugh! We had to throw a big rock at them so that we could get them off of the post and get our rubbing. We were scared to death – but we did it, because we were determined to get all of our hikes done. And we did! I can’t wait for next year’s challenge! Did you participate in GoYork this year? Did you have a favorite hike? What’s your favorite part of the challenge?
