It’s Me – Olivia – and my Journey to Health (2019-today)

Hi everyone. It’s me, Olivia. I think I am feeling brave enough to tell you a little bit about how the adventurePages got started.

When I was a first grader, in-person school stopped on St. Patrick’s Day because of Covid. That was kind of a good thing for me, because that is when my belly issues started. The doctors don’t know why it happened, but they tried all kinds of things to help me get better. I tried to do in-person school in second grade but had to do virtual learning for most of the year since I couldn’t get healthy. That was really hard for me, because I love school and I love being with my friends. I had to go to the hospital a bunch back then too which was really scary for me.

Mommy and I were home together all the time, and she always took care of me as best as she could. I don’t know what I would do without her. Sometimes if I would feel good, she started to take me on little trips to try to take my mind off of my belly troubles. We went to NYC first, and we had to spend a lot of time in the hotel because I started not to feel so good. But it was okay because we still got to see the Central Park Zoo and it was nice to be away from home. We got really close on our adventures and during all the time she was spending taking care of me. Now I can’t imagine not going on adventures with her, because there are so many more amazing places for us to see and exciting things to do.

I don’t feel comfortable sharing too much about my belly issues, but I think I am sort of happy now that I had them. If I didn’t, maybe me and mommy would never have started to do adventures together and I never would have met so many amazing people on our trips and through our blog. I have a lot to be thankful for. And I am really thankful for all of you who share about your lives with us. It makes us both so happy. Thank you everyone. Love, Olivia
